New Fishes!

Yesterday, I visited the infamous Jalan Pasar (a place in Kuala Lumpur to purchase electronic components, car accessories). While walking down that busy street with my girlfriend, we came across lots of fish shops. And guess what?! The fishes there were way much cheaper compared to my hometown(Seremban). So, I purchased a Black Moor Goldfish and a Lion Head Goldfish for my girlfriend for only RM3.50 for both.

For now my girlfriend is starting to adore fishes and is learning to take good care of fishes. Maybe later, I'll bring her into the world of hardcore fishing.

The Snakehead hunt!

Today I met an old friend in an aquarium shop while I was getting some food for my Arowana. He told me he was heading to a private hidden lake to hunt for snakeheads. So, I bought a few baby catfish as bait. We then met up at his place in Seremban2 and drove to that hidden lake. We used many methods to hunt for the snakehead (eg; float, casting), but nothing got hooked. I know the hunt for my first Snakehead is still in me and I'll definitely go to that private hidden lake again.

I'm a Fisherman..

Well, my fishing hobby started about 2 months+ ago (somewhere in June).. First i bought a reel and a basic rod that cost about 70bucks.. The first fish I caught was a black tilapia at a nearby lake in Seremban. I used a double hook and some leftover bread. After that thrilling experience, I then went online and started to join our Malaysian Anglers forum (kakipancing.net). I decided to get a better set of equipment.
I bought a Penn Pursuit 4000 and a Rapala Sportsmen Classic 6'6" (Medium Action). The line for my Penn was initially an 80lb IguanaX braided line but I recently changed it to a 40lb braided line. The Rapala Sportsmen Classic is a good rod for beginners and it's quite sensitive at the tip. So, you would know when a small fish is enjoying your bait.

Just last week I bought a Daiwa Sweepfire-RA 2550 with a 20lb braided line. I got this reel because I fancy the design and I feel it's easier to use compared to the Penn Pursuit 4000. So far, for the past 2 months, I caught:

9 Rohu fishes
5 Lampam fishes
3 Keli Fishes (Catfish)
7 Baung fishes
20 Ikan Diamond
17 Black Tilapia
10 Ikan Patin
5 Freshwater prawns

It's been an interesting hobby and will continue to be as fishing teaches on to be patient and alert. Any Seremban friends interested to go fishing with me can always contact me.
